Evernote has been around a while, at least as far as the myriad other "notebook" apps are concerned. It was not all that easy to navigate and figure out though, so I bypassed it initially. However, at an entrepreneur's weekend, Evernote comments were cropping up on occasion, so I decided to try it and evaluate more of the capabilities I heard about but couldn't figure out. Good atuff but light so much more to share and document. For instancr hoeto onshared notebojd traps work arounds etc would b helpful. Id rename to how to get startedvs complete
This was my second attempt at incorporating Evernote into my lifestyle and to see if I missed something the first time through. The book, The Complete Guide To Evernote was well written but didn't offer any more then you can read on Evernote's website.
It has a lot of things I already knew just by playing around with it. However, the explanation of how to get the most from Evernote and how to organize it is something I had not figured out yet.
There isn't much to this title. It doesn't say much about using Evernote. You probably learned more reading the Evernote website. This isn't a "these are the features" manual. It isn't a "how-to-do-it" manual. It isn't this is "how you can you it for such-and-such a task" manual. It isn't a manual at all. I am disappointed.
The cover is nice, though.
This is not an in depth review of Evernote only a very quick introduction important features. This is not a how to manual.
The book is very good for getting use to using Evernote. Evernote is great as a research tool when used and then save to the cloud. It is also eaier to bring up prior subjects you wrote about and other things. Price is inexpensive.
Some of the ideas in this book were clever and useful, especially for how to organize notes and use tags.
My confusion is that many of the things I wanted to implement, such as setting up the toolbar, don't exist in the current version of Evernote for Mac. This book was published in 2013, and it's only June 2013 now, but the descriptions of what should be available and the screen shots of the Mac version are nothing like what is on my computer. I've had Evernote since the end of last year, and I don't recall it looking any different than now, especially not as different as it is in the book. So I don't know what to tell you.
